5 Checks Before You Order a Pipe Repair Packer
Five checks before ordering a repair packer: measured bore and pipe material, defect and repair length, access and deflated size, flow and pressure limits.
Application Overview
This is an excerpt from the full explainer. The pressure ratings quoted are published catalogue rows; use the row for the model you shortlist and confirm it with Reliance.

The packer fits the pipe. Does it fit the job? One catalogue row gives a deflated diameter of one hundred and fifty millimetres. And a maximum inflation pressure of two bar. Neither number alone selects the tool. Start with the pipe, not the product name. Measure the internal diameter at the defect, not only the nominal DN label. Record the pipe material, and any ovality or offset at the defect. Now the duty. Every model row lists a maximum inflation pressure and a maximum back pressure. The ratings fall as the packer grows: four bar on RP 70-150, two bar on RP 200-300, one bar on RP 1000-1500. Use the row for the model you shortlist. Do not assume one rating for the family.
